The most weighty truth is that I DO believe I am judged by God. I am a sinner, one who makes mistakes all the time, and is never capable of living up to the ultimate standard of God’s holiness (“Be ye holy as I am holy”).
For the record, I never once denied that Christians have committed horrible crimes. It is true. Christians killed Jews, blacks, Muslims, pagans, atheists, etc. Are we the only ones who have committed crimes against our neighbors? No, “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” If not for the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, given as a gift through faith, I’d already be in hell.
But, then again, dear atheist, if no God, then what sin? If no objective, transcendent Standard, who’s to judge whom for what? Man judges man? I thought we weren’t supposed to judge?
I don’t have all the answers. All I know is that I must answer for my own thoughts and deeds. I am going to apologize for some of the language I used against you yesterday. YES YOU DID PISS ME OFF with the insults and derogatories you threw at me. How Christianity actually rose to power, how the bible actually came to be, etc. All of it.
I studied all the Pagan myths. I’ve studied many Native American myths. I spent years on these subjects.

It takes a whole LOT of guts and courage to say wait a minute, I am not just going to blindly believe, on faith, what I am being told is true. That would in essence? Be living someone elses beliefs and thought. I think for myself. This is why I have a brain and a conscious. I came to the conclusion that all of those Bronze Age myths? Are just that. Bronze Age myths from the time of humanity when we were incredibly superstitious and ignorant. But? We have come a very long way when we said those sounds of thunder? Were the voices of our god. We have come a long way since we said beings that were basically invisible? Created everything. I mean come on, according to your bible? The earth is basically 8,000 years old and even the Universe is that old when science? Has far proven it is not.
But? Here is one of my thoughts that might actually? Blow your mind.
The mind of a human is a very powerful thing. We have proven this. Belief is a very powerful thing. We have proven that. The thoughts of the mystics? Including your Jesus? All taught? That as you think? As you believe? So you create. Now? Billions upon billions of Christians believe their god is real, their Jesus is real, their heaven and hell is real. This has gone on for pretty much 1,700 years. That? Is a whole lot of power. How do we know? With the theories of what is taught? That your beliefs, your prayers, your thoughts about your god, your Jesus, your Heaven and Hell? Actually created it all? That? Is in actuality? A very distinct possibility. Who knows. It is? Something to ponder.
Which in essence? All people who have religious beliefs about gods and goddesses? Also did the same, and in essence? They too created these beings in existence?
Pretty wild theories, pretty wild Twilight Zone episodes can be done on this one train of thought.
But neither YOU nor anyone else can say truly? Your god is real. This was brought to you and you accepted it as real. That is your right as an independent human being. But? YOU or any other god believer? Do not have a right to demand any person who believes in a different god? A different religion? Or no god or no religion at all? To force your religion upon another. These? Are YOUR opinions actually. Just as Thomas Jefferson said, religious beliefs? Are actually an opinion that your religious beliefs? Are right. And? What your religious beliefs might be right for YOU? May not be right for another person who has their own religious beliefs, or? None at all.
